As it's title suggests, Nine Months is a romantic comedy about pregnancy. Hugh Grant and Julianne Moore star as an unmarried couple whose perfect lifestyle is turned upside down by an unplanned pregnancy. Soon their relationship is challenged in many ways, but all along they have the friendship of a married couple with three young children (Tom Arnold and Joan Cusack), who do everything they can to help them out. However, Arnold, Cusack, and their kids are prone to hilariously disastrous situations. The funniest scene in the film involves Grant and Arnold shopping for baby supplies in a store where they get in a fight with a Barney-type man in a costume. Other hilarious moments are provided by Robin Williams as a Russian doctor who has previously worked with animals only and can barely speak English. The movie also stars Jeff Goldblum as a wealthy bachelor who is helpful to Hugh Grant, even though he has troubles of his own. Nine Months has a touching and romantic ending, but there are lots of very funny complications along the way. Truth be told, this movie defies the label 'romantic comedy' because it's hilarious enough to amuse fans of any type of comedy. I highly recommend this movie to couples both married and unmarried to watch together, or to anyone who simply enjoys a good laugh. Don't wait nine months - buy this movie now!

Nine Months Overview

Sam (Hugh Grant) has it all - a wonderful girlfriend, a successful child psychology practice and a red Porsche. But he's faced with having something he never wanted when he learns his girlfriend (Julianne Moore) is expecting. The news sends the unflappable psychologist into a panic. Torn between advise given by a well-meaning but over-bearing couple, (Tom Arnold and Joan Cusack), and by his confirmed bachelor buddy (Jeff Goldblum), Sam's in serious danger of losing his mind and his girlfriend. He's got just nine months - give or take a week, according to their crazy Russian gynecologist (Robin Williams) - to grow up!
