This video consists of five different stories, each one entertaining and humorous. The stories are introduced using an open storybook with pop up pictures and cute rhymes. It is computer animated and done well.

First, Minnie and Daisy challenge each other in an ice skating competition.

Next, Huey, Dewie, and Louie take a trip to the North Pole to try to write their names on the good list.

Then, Maxie worries about bringing his girlfriend home to meet his dad, Goofy, for Christmas.

Donald then has trouble catching Christmas cheer.

Lastly, when Pluto makes a mess of the Christmas decorations, Mickey sends him to the doghouse. Feeling unloved, Pluto ends up adopted by Santa's reindeer.

This is a classic Christmas movie with my family. My husband and I enjoy it, and now our children love it, too. They request it over and over again. Entertaining Christmas fun!

All right, sometime I wonder why a movie gets so much attention... and maybe this one did since it has one really cure character, Mark, but sincerely I don't get what else. The plot could be interesting, but I really don't get the appeal of Caleb, for me he is not so handsome or clever or interesting. It would be more interesting to see the development of the relationship between Mark and Kyle instead. And then to my eyes I don't see what they all find in Gwen, maybe she is a pretty girl, but when she acts as she does, I would be glad to knock dead her in the head.

My first response, which lasted several years, was to be repelled by the air-brushed, skinny white supermodel push with the one token black chick. I felt that this was not representative of the lesbian community. I heard that they made lesbianism all about sex---lots of sex scenes, kind of like pornography.

Then I actually watched it and got totally hooked. I found it incredibly well done and not trying to suggest that it was a representative sample. This is not research, it has to bow to the God of ratings and corporate sponsorship. Sex sells. And many of the sex scenes are very well done. The ones that bore me I fast forward through. Mostly, their sex is an extension of these women's lives, which is how most folk I know live.

It sports snatches of "Sex in the City" cafe check-ins and is the next generation, the female generation after "Queer as Folk"...the latter of which I could never get into. So, in summary, it isn't perfect but it is riveting, funny and brilliantly executed, weaving in elements of the queer community I've never seen even attempted before in a credible context rich with depth of characters and surprising plot twists. I wish I had this show to complain about when I was a teenager. I am eager to see what kind of "alternative life style" series is coming next.

The L Word: Season One Overview

Set in the chic world of Los Angeles, this humor-laced dramatic series explores the lives of a group of lesbians, their friends, family and neighbors, The series take a smart, sexy and fun look at hopes, dreams and lives of these people as they deal with things like career struggles, relationships issues and the pressures of tying to start at family. The show provides a fresh look at everyday life, told with passion, frankness and humor.

#1 Cheap The Three Stooges Collection, Vol. 6: 1949-1951 Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

This is a review of "The Three Stooges Collection, Vol. 6:
1949-1951," a collection of 24 of their later day Columbia Pictures
shorts remastered and released on DVDs by Sony.

By the time we join the mayhem- prone trio, Shemp has become just like
the original Stooge that he always was. This, after all, is show biz
and in biz there's not much room for sentiment unless you can profit from
it. And Curly, who languished in forced retirement because of ill health
until his death in 1951, would as it turned out, always be remembered as
the primo Stooge.

But in 1951 I doubt that this was much considered, after all, the audience
for things like comedy short subjects, newreels, cartoons and travelogues
was rapidly dwindling as television took over the entertainment landscape
and a night out at the movies was beginning to look more like a hassle
than a treat. It seemed much easier to settle for what was on TV than
going out to sit with sometimes annoying strangers to watch something that
may or may not have been much good.

But at Columbia Pictures, the Three Stooges kept rolling along, turning
out some pretty funny stuff. Maybe a little short on the inventive spark
that marked some of their earlier efforts, but still fairly funny and Shemp
had more than a litle to do with that.

Take a look at the short entitled "Self Made Maids," in which the boys
wind up playing themselves, as usual, plus their fiancees and eventually
their infants. Maybe they weren't Brando but that's my kind of method
acting.

And speaking of methods, catch the improv throughout "Don't Throw That
Knife," in which the Stooges improvise in a room full of kitchen utensils.
Taking virtualy nothing and giving us one laugh after another apparently
unscripted is both the acme of comedy genius and arrogance, but if
anyone could pull it off it was The Stooges.

So I give "The Three Stooges Collection Vol. 6: 1949-1951" my highest
recommendation not just because of the difficulties they had to overcome
or any of the circumstances surrounding the making of these comedy short
subjects, but because of the fact that these films are just plain funny.

Even after all these years, The Three Stooges still had it and it
was begining to look like the germ of comedy genius would never
desert them. Five Stars, flat out.

The Three Stooges Collection, Vol. 6: 1949-1951 Overview

The Three Stooges return with the next 24 digitally remastered shorts covering the years 1949-1951 in this sixth collection, which continues with Shemp as the third Stooge, who had stepped in two years earlier to fill the shoes left empty when Curly became ill and retired. This collection contains such classics as "Merry Mavericks" (1951), a reworking of "Phony Express" (1943) featuring Red Morgan and his gang of bandits; "Self Made Maids" (1950), in which the Stooges not only play themselves but assume the roles of their fiancées, their fiancées' father (played by Moe) and their three babies; and "Don't Throw that Knife" (1951), which features Larry, Moe and Shemp in brilliant improvisation with nothing but household items while confined to a single room. The Three Stooges Collection Volume 6 showcases Larry, Moe and Shemp at their best -- and things just keep getting better!

#1 Cheap Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Full Screen Edition) Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

Now this is strange. "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" succeeds in spite of Johnny Depp's performance, which should have been the high point of the movie. Depp, an actor of considerable gifts, has never been afraid to take a chance, but this time he takes the wrong one. His Willy Wonka is an enigma in an otherwise mostly delightful movie from Tim Burton, where the visual invention is a wonderment. Tim Burton is cheerfully inventive in imagining the city and the factory, and the film's production design, by Alex McDowell, is a wonder.

Johnny Depp may deny that he had Michael Jackson in mind when he created the look and feel of Willy Wonka, but moviegoers trust their eyes, and when they see Willy opening the doors of the factory to welcome the five little winners, they will be relieved that the kids brought along adult guardians. Depp's Wonka -- his dandy's clothes, his unnaturally pale face, his makeup and lipstick, his hat, his manner -- reminds me inescapably of Jackson (and, oddly, in a certain use of the teeth, chin and bobbed hairstyle, of Carol Burnett).

The problem is not simply that Willy Wonka looks like Michael Jackson; it's that in a creepy way we're not sure of his motives. The story of Willy and his factory has had disturbing undertones ever since it first appeared in Roald Dahl's 1964 book (also named after Charlie, not Willy). Nasty and frightening things happen to the children inside the factory in the book and both movies; perhaps Willy is using the tour to punish the behavior of little brats, while rewarding the good, poor and decent Charlie. (How does it happen that each of the other four winners illustrates a naughty childhood trait? Just Willy's good luck, I guess.)

This aside I found this to be a strangely, entertaining film. My biggest criticism were the song and dance numbers by the Oompa Loompas, I can always do without a song and dance number, but the factory is so exciting I'm willing to overlook it. Popcorn break anyone? It is dark the way the story is supposed to be and most people know what they're getting with a Tim Burton film. If you don't, then you should get out more.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Full Screen Edition) Overview

Fantasy Adventure. Acclaimed director Tim Burton brings his vividly imaginative style to the beloved Roald Dahl classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, about eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka (Depp) and Charlie, a good-hearted boy from a poor family who lives in the shadow of Wonka's extraordinary factory. Long isolated from his own family, Wonka launches a worldwide contest to select an heir to his candy empire. Five lucky children, including Charlie, draw golden tickets from Wonka chocolate bars and win a guided tour of the legendary candy-making facility that no outsider has seen in 15 years. Dazzled by one amazing sight after another, Charlie is drawn into Wonka's fantastic world in this astonishing andenduring story.

Imposter In The Chocolate Factory "gasp" - Rachel Vironet - Alachua, FL, US
This movie was interesting... but I grew up watching the 1971 version of the Roald Dahl book and I am spoiled for any other version. Gene Wilder was untouchable as Willy Wonka. Johnny Depp was awesome and brought a new sort of life to the character but still not Willy Wonka like. I know this movie is a unique adaptation of the book, so it would have a different "feel" but once you watch the version directed by Mel Stuart everything else is just a second rate imitation.

If you have never seen the 1971 version then watch the remake first or you may be disappointed. :)

#1 Cheap Dexter's Laboratory: Season One Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

In Dexter's Labratory Lives The Smartest Boy You've Ever Seen! This is a classic series from the 1990's and from what many consider to be the peak of Cartoon Network's programming. Created by Genndy Tartakovsky, the mind that would later bring us such classic series as Samurai Jack and Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003-05), Dexter's Lab is a truly wonderful series on so many levels. Finally being properly released on DVD this complete first season set will contain the following 13 twenty two minute episodes spread across 2-discs:

DISC 1
1 Deedeemensional, Dial M for Monkey: Magmanamus, Maternal Combat
2 Dexter Dodgeball, Dial M For Monkey: Rasslor, Dexter's Assistant
3 Dexter's Rival, Dial M For Monkey: Simion, Old Man Dexter
4 Double Trouble, Dexter's Lab: A Story, Changes
5 Jurassic Pooch, Dial M For Monkey: Orgon Grindor, Dimwit Dexter
6 Dee Dee's Room, Dial M For Monkey: Huntor, The Big Sister
7 Star Spangled Sidekicks, The Justice Friends: TV Superpals, Gameover
8 Babysitter Blues, The Justice Friends: Valhallen's Room, Dream Machine

DISC 2
9 Dollhouse Drama, The Justice Friends: Krunk's Date, The Big Cheese
10 Way of DeeDee, The Justice Friends: Say Uncle Sam, Tribe Called Girl
11 Spacecase, The Justice Friends: Ratman, Dexter's Debt
12 The Justice Friends: Bee Where?, Mandarker
13 Inflata DeeDee, The Justice Friends: Can't Nap, Monstory

In all the thirteen episodes are comprised of 38 individual stories which adds up to 281 minutes of Dexter. There will be English Subtitles and video will obviously be Standard Full Frame.

I can't say how classic this series truly is. Who could forget characters such as Dexter's rival the nasal voiced Mandark? His lacksadaisical sister DeeDee always interfering with his experiments? Or Dexter's Mom and Dad who never had a clue of his secret lab or of what was really going on in the house. On top of all the delightful Dexter centric episodes are the episodes that focus on The Justice Friends or the episodes that feature the space monkeys.

I'm surprised that no special features are currently listed for this release and hope that changes in the near future (The similar and recently released Johnny Bravo set had some wonderful features including commentaries by the creators and voice actors). At any rate it will be great for fans to be able to at long last own these episodes on a proper DVD set and let's just hope that enough people buy this to justify the release of the rest of the series. Thanks for your time.

One of the best... - Sherry G. O'connell -
At last, one of the very best animated shows ever will finally be released on DVD. I have already pre-ordered mine! Dexter's family is hilarious, the mom who always wears rubber gloves to avoid any and all germs, the dad who fancies himself maybe a little more, say an FBI agent, and of course, Dexter's little sister, DeeDee, who is always getting into Dexter's stuff, as any little sister would.

#1 Cheap Bye Bye Birdie Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

It was fun watching this musical because of the few tunes I recognized, especially "Put On a Happy Face" with Dick Van Dyke singing.

The whole film is really a parody, with some silly romantic comedy mixed in. Often we have dancing and great choreography that does not fit at all in the plot, but who really cares?

Conrad Birdie is an obvious "teen idol" who shakes and shivers and is arrogant as well as "sexy." The boys can't stand him because of what he's doing to "their women." A lucky girl (Ann Margret) has been chosen to kiss Conrad on the Ed Sullivan show as he sings Albert's (Dick Van Dyke's) song, so Albert can marry Rosie (Janet Leigh, best supporting actress in Psycho!). However, things don't go as planned.

Romantic comedy soap opera stuff I could clearly skip, not being a big fan. But Maureen Stapleton as the clinging mother and that great comedian Paul Lynne cracking jokes was pretty fun to see.

And G-rated, imagine that!

#1 Cheap Women in Trouble Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

Going into this film, I wasn't sure if this was something I could get into.
I honestly watched it only because I've become a big fan of Joseph Gordon Levitt's work and it was available to instantly stream on netflix.(Which by-the-way, if that's also your motive you might just want to fast-forward to the end of the credits and save yourself some time) So another night alone at home was nigh and it just seemed that 'Women in Trouble' and I were meant to be.

A good twenty minutes into the film and I was thinking "oh well" it doesn't seem like I'm going to be able to endure this. However don't be quick to judge, there is something about this low-budget, slightly socially un-acceptable film that ends-up being really kind of enjoyable.

Part coming-of-age tale, part romantic comedy/chick flick and a good dash of something raw that feels straight out of Sundance.

The intertwined stories of Elektra Luxx(Gugino) a pornstar's impending pregnancy and Maxine McPherson(Sarah Clarke)'s discovery of her cheating husband Travis(Simon Baker) have the most hear in the film, really making you feel for them in a time of need.(Something I personally find hard to come by with most films nowadays)

Starring the beautiful Carla Gugino and Emmanuelle Chriqui (among many others) this movie is a twist of both harsh, dingy reality and the ideas of modern society & love.

Women in Trouble Overview

A funny sexy romantic comedy for MEN and Women!
From writer/director Sebastian Gutierrez comes a comedy about a serpentine day in the life of ten seemingly disparate women including a porn star, a flight attendant, a psychiatrist, a masseuse, a bartender and a pair of call girls - all with one thing in common: trouble. WOMEN IN TROUBLE stars Carla Gugino ( Sin City ), Adrianne Palicki ( Friday Night Lights ), Connie Britton ( 24 ), Marley Shelton ( Grindhouse ), Emmanuelle Chriqui ( Entourage ), Simon Baker ( The Mentalist ), and Josh Brolin ( Milk ).

Some funny raw sex jokes + Many dragging scenes + The plot leads to nowhere = This movie is in trouble - Cestmoi -
There are some funny raw sex jokes. They make some scenes worth watching.
The majority of the scenes are dragging. The plot leads to nowhere. The plot leads to nowhere. Overall, it's not worth it.

#1 Cheap The Harvey Girls Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

I read through some of the negative reviews and think there are some that take this movie way too seriously. It's suppose to be a fun musical and IMO it is!

Great singing, dancing, and a cute story line that has several funny moments. It's not suppose to be a documentary about the life of the Harvey Girls, it's suppose to be for fun. It's not trying to make any statements about women in the old west, it's just for entertainment. I thought it was fun and entertaining.

I'm a train fan and love the train scenes. I love the signature song for the movie, Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe. The brilliant colors in almost every scene add to the positive atmosphere of the movie. And Judy Garland's voice! Wish I could have seen her live.

If you are a Judy Garland fan I think you will enjoy this movie. Is it her best movie? No, but I think it's still very good!

The Harvey Girls Overview

Musical western about a mail order bride who ditches her bashful suitor and joins a group of women intent on opening a remote whistle stop restaurant.

Refreshing Entertainment - Richard R. Blake - Bridgman, Michigan
"The Harvey Girls" is a refreshing trip down memory lane. Another MGM musical of the 40's. Romance, conflict, comedy, dancing, and music with an underlying message for today. Several surprising plot twists make up for the otherwise predicable story line.

#1 Cheap Planes, Trains and Automobiles Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

...the same confidence. The movie tells the story of two travelers who share a modest wish in life, to fly from LaGuardia to O'Hare on schedule, and it follows with complete logic the chain of events that leads them to share a soggy bed in a cheap motel in Wichita, Kan.

The travelers are played by Steve Martin and John Candy, Martin as the fastidious, anal-compulsive snob and Candy as the big, unkempt shower-ring salesman with a weakness for telling long stories without punchlines. Both actors are perfectly cast, not so much because they are physically matched to their roles as because the movie is able to see past their differences to an essential sweetness they share.

The film was written and directed by John Hughes, who previously has specialized in high-quality teenage movies, such as "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club." One hallmark of Hughes' work is his insistence that his characters have recognizable human qualities; he doesn't work with a cookie cutter, and the teenage roles he wrote for Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Matthew Broderick and others helped transform Holywood's idea of what a teenage movie could be. Hughes' comedies al ways contain a serious undercurrent, attention to some sort of universal human dilemma that his screenplay helps to solve.

All of which may seem a million miles away from Steve Martin and John Candy, whom we left on that beer-soaked mattress in Kansas. ("You should have known what would happen when you left a six-pack on a vibrating mattress," Martin nitterly complains.) But "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" is a screwball comedy with a heart, and after the laughter is over the film has generated a lot of good feeling.

The story opens in Manhattan, a few days before Thanksgiving, when Candy grabs a taxi that Martin thought was his. The two men meet again at a departure lounge at LaGuardia, where their flight to Chicago has been delayed by bad weather. Martin immediately recognizes the other man as the SOB who got his cab, and inevitably, when they finally board the plane, he finds himself bumped out of first class and wedged into the center seat next to the ample Candy.

The flight eventually takes off, only to be diverted to Wichita, where Candy has enough connections through the shower-ring business to get them a room - one room with one bed. This is the beginning of a two-day nightmare for the fastidious Martin, who at one point screams at Candy that he snores and smokes, his socks smell and his jokes aren't funny.

How bad are Candy's jokes? Martin shows no mercy. He'd rather attend an insurance seminar than listen to one more of them. During Martin's long outburst, the camera holds on Candy's face, and we see that he is hurt, not offended. He only wants to please, to make friends. And, as usual, he has tried too hard.

The next morning, back at the Wichita airport, Martin tries to dump Candy, but fate has linked them together. Through a series of horrible misadventures on trains, buses, semi-trailer trucks and automobiles, they end up on a highway somewhere in southern Illinois, trying to explain to a state trooper why they are driving a car that has not only crashed, but burned.

There are a lot of big laughs in "Trains, Planes and Automobiles," including the moment when the two men wake up cuddled together in the motel room, and immediately leap out of bed and begin to make macho talk about the latest Bears game. The movie's a terrific comedy, but it's more than that, because eventually Hughes gives the Martin and Candy characters some genuine depth. We begin to understand the dynamics of their relationship, and to see that although they may be opposites, they have more in common than they know.

This is a funny movie, but also a surprisingly warm and sweet one.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles Overview

AN AD EXEC AND A SHOWER-CURTAIN-RING SALESMAN BECOMECO-TRAVELERS ON THE WAY TO THANKSGIVING IN CHICAGO.

Marshall Fine is a Dried Up old Moron....This movie is GREAT! - M. Furman - Sunny NJ
john hughes has built an absolute classic. a holiday favorite at my house, Planes Trains and Automobiles is funny, touching and wonderfully paced. Martin and Candy are perfect. Hughes new that.
the story is simple. two men trying to get home for their thanksgiving holiday with their families. the obstacles and personality conflicts take over from there.
Martin is too stuck up and Candy is too overbearingly friendly. and it works. you laugh at this movie, not just say 'that was funny' when it's over.
kinda rough segment at the car rental counter would be inappropriate for kids.
otherwise, it's family fare.

#1 Cheap Rush Hour/Rush Hour 2 Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2 are great movies. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are both involved with the law. Chan is an officer from China, and Tucker is with the LAPD. In the movies they are brought together and are forced to face their own differences and fight crime at the same time. Both movies provide comedy as well as action. It is always fun to see the stunts that Chan implements in the films. The plot line is great, and the actors are just as excellent. At the end of the movie, the bloopers are shown before the credits. Overall, both movies are great and recive 5/5 stars.

One problem with the layout of the movies is that it is only on one disc. All you have to do is take out the dvd and flip it over to view the other feature. To me that is not a big deal, but to others, they may not like that it is not on two different dvds. On the other hand, this package is not very expensive.

I have not watched the third Rush Hour movie only because I have not always recived the best reviews from it. So I decided to get Rush Hour one and two, which I knew were great buys.

This is my first review, so hopefully I helped in someway. Any comments, questions, or objections will be appreciated just the same. I definitely think it is worthwhile to own the movies.

Rush Hour/Rush Hour 2

Rush Hour/Rush Hour 2 Overview

One chops the chops. The other talks the talk. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker bring fresh style and swagger to buddy-cop movies with these smash-hit action-comedies that showcase the stars’ kicky chemistry and charisma. Rush Hour (Side A) has them learning – somehow, someway, anyway – to work together while tackling an international kidnapping case in L.A. Rush Hour 2 (Side B) bullets the duo from Hong Kong to L.A. to Vegas on a trail of international counterfeiters. Hang on for action that moves at the speeds of fast, faster and funnier!

#1 Cheap Hoodwinked (Full Screen Version) Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

This is my favorite movie ever. It starts off with the original fairy tale, then gets crazier and wackier further on, until it suddenly ends with an evil bunny chasing down a granny on a muffin tin above a cable car. And it all makes SENSE, too. The animation isn't that great, but I don't mind--it makes the characters seem somehow doll-like, which I think is perfect for a fairy tale retelling. The mood switches from comically serious--the Wolf's story--to crazily insane--lumberjack!--and back again. I especially love how the villain is the bunny, the adorable little Boingo, the last person anyone would ever expect. My whole family adores this movie, from my dad to my five-year-old sister. When my friend and I first saw it, we spent months afterward quoting random lines from it. We still do, sometimes. It's THAT good.

Hoodwinked (Full Screen Version) Overview

So you think you know the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Don’t be too sure. . . . One of your favorite fairy tales is turned upside-down and inside-out in what the L.A. Times called "high-energy, imaginative entertainment." With irreverent storytelling, spunk and wit, Hoodwinked delivers a comedy caper for the young, the young at heart and everyone in between. When the police arrive at Granny’s cottage in the woods to answer a domestic disturbance call, it looks like just another open-and-shut case. But Red, Granny, the Big Bad Wolf and the Woodsman are not your usual suspects, as they have their own dark secrets, wily deceptions and conflicting accounts of the crime. Together, they must put aside their differences and find their own original twist on Happily Ever After in this "raucous, genre-busting, animated gem (Entertainment Weekly, The Must List)."

Little Red Riding Hood Adaptation - Daniel T. Colton - Utah
This is a hilarious adaptation of the classic story of Little Red Riding hood. I love it and what's more important is my toddler daughter loves it.

#1 Cheap Full House: The Complete Sixth Season Reviews

Full House - The Complete Sixth Season is by far the best season! Some sitcoms hit their stride in the earlier seasons but Full House got better with age which is rare nowadays. My favorite episodes from season 6 include: Come Fly with Me, Lovers and Other Tanners, I'm Not D.J., Birthday Blues, and Prom Night. I like this season because D.J. finally gets a steady boyfriend and Danny continues to date Vicky - this is the lovey dovey season. I highly recommend this cookie-cutter show (and that's a good thing) Enjoy!

I grew up watching Full house; however, when the last couple seasons came out i was a teenager. I was so busy with my friends, I missed the last couple seasons. Now that there on dvd, i just bought this 8th season to complete my collection. It is really fun watching it for the first time now (Even thoguh im 29). my 3 year old loves watching it with me. There are lots of great scenes with the twins (becky and uncle jesse's) and also with Michelle. So glad we have something fun to watch together. The only thing I didnt like is how Stephanie is hanging out with that bad girl Gia. I remember teh earlier seasons when DJ was a teen, she was a pretty good kid. Stephanie is good, but the stories with her aren't as wholesome as the DJ ones were (example, riding in that car with those boys). In the end stephanie always does the right thing though, so I guess that is good.

This is a captivating movie derived from the long running Broadway musical of the same name. The musical was based on a book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse and was choreographed by Fosse. Fosse's next film project was to have been to make the musical into a movie, but he died before the project was begun, which shelved the project. Rob Marshall revived interest in the film project with his idea of casting the events of the film through the eyes of Roxie Hart. We can be glad that the film project was revived, because Rob Marshall has created a truly wonderful movie. What a talented cast!! Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger, Richard Gere, Queen Latifah, and John C. Reilly all dance, sing, and act extremely well. The dance numbers preserve the Fosse imprint of the musical. This is an exceptionally entertaining film that you will long remember.

#1 Cheap Marty (1954) Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

A sweet, simple story about a lonely, shy butcher who grapples with balancing family and work. Struggling to find confidence due to the ridicule and rejection of people who base on outward experience, Marty maintains his dignity along with his determination to forge a better path for himself.

One night at an upscale nightclub Marty meets a kindred spirit: Clara, an intelligent, plain girl with dreams of her own.

Over many cups of coffee the two share heartfelt conversation and reveal their dreams to one another. Still, friends and family judge. In the end, however, true love prevails as Marty firmly resolves to explore a new world of possibility with Clara.

An uplifting gem with a timeless message. The dialogue is superb. And the simplicity of the story does not detract from its sheer entertainment value as Marty's mother and aunt provide archetypes of Italian culture that add just the right amount of humor to balance the more tender moments!

My only disappointment is that the DVD version cuts three to four minutes of footage as Clara spoke with her parents about her date with Marty. It was such a lovely scene and the movie is not that lengthy to start with. I hope they repackage this DVD and add those to create a theatrical version. In fact, it's my dream to see a 4 disc or a last 2-double sided discs that would include the director's cut, the original theatrical version, the 1953 TV version, and a documentary/commentary about the making of the movie.

One of the best movies ever filmed! Well-deserved Oscar for best picture and Borgnine for best actor!

#1 Cheap Get Smart [Blu-ray] Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

GET SMART is a television show that comedy fans hold in high regard. Don Adams as Maxwell Smart was the perfect combination between bumbling Mel Brooks-goofiness and high security intelligence. There have been a lot of television shows that have been made into movies (and vice versa). Many of these are terrible. From much of the press at the time of the movies release, one might think that the film adaptation of GET SMART starring Steve Carrell is a disaster, but it's not. Instead, the movie stays fairly close to the original series, especially in spirit.

In the movie, Maxwell Smart has been working for CONTROL for a number of years and longs to be a field agent like his role model, Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson). When CONTROL headquarters is attacked, it becomes clear that the organization has been infiltrated by KAOS and that someone is a traitor working for the other side. Most of the field agents who weren't killed in the attack are pulled and given desk jobs and Max finally gets his promotion as he's assigned to the field as Agent 86. He's partnered with Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway), who because of recent plastic surgery remains in the field since no one knows what she looks like now. Before leaving for the field, Max is given some top secret gizmos from his two research and development friends Bruce (Masi Oka) and Lloyd (Nate Torrence).

Carrell and Hathaway give fine performances. They are both talented actors and there really is some zany chemistry between them on screen. Dwayne Johnson steals many of the scenes he is in playing up to while at the same time spoofing the macho leading man roles he often is given.
Bill Murray has a very small cameo as Agent 13, so watch for that. Also, many of the original devices and gags from the original series feature in the movie such as the cone of silence and the shoe-phone.

I enjoyed GET SMART. I thought it was funny, with just the right amount of action and plenty of heart. Though it's not quite as good as the original tv show, it as a great film adaptation of an original tv show that only misses the mark "by that much".

Get Smart [Blu-ray] Overview

Secret agent Maxwell Smart and his fellow spies Agent 99 and Agent 23 work to protect their agency and the world from the evil masterminds at KAOS.

Get Smart -- and Watch the Original Series Instead - Jerry P. Danzig - New York, NY USA
Why does Hollywood persist in producing horrendous remakes of classic TV series? Because they figure that these efforts are pre-sold commodities, I guess.

So here is another in a continuing roster of dreadful films guaranteed to make fans of the original series wince in pain (others that come to mind include "Bewitched," "The Avengers," and "Rocky and Bullwinkle," to name just three).

If you're going to remake a beloved TV series, then for heaven's sake, make it true to the things that people loved best about the show. For some reason, the hacks who make these movies think that they can improve on the originals, and nine times out of ten, they can't.

The first problem here is Maxwell Smart himself, as played by Steve Carell. To be fair, Carell had giant shoephones to fill, those of Don Adams, who was pretty much born to play Smart on TV (and before Smart, an identical Detective character, named Glick if memory serves me, on the Bill Dana show).

Smart is a classic comic character because, like Inspector Clouseau, he has absolute confidence in his abilities, which are continually shown to be all but nonexistent. The huge gap between his supreme confidence and his staggering ineptitude produces the comedy. In this movie, however, Smart is shown to be a Control analyst suffering from doubt and a midlife crisis. That stance is just wrong for the character.

Similarly, as blind as TV Smart was to his incompetence, he was equally blind to his source of greatest good fortune -- the devotion to him shown by the beautiful and extremely competent Agent 99, who prevails as often as he fails.

In the show, 99's adoration was sweet if misguided. Here, 99, as played by Anne Hathaway, is shown to be quite put off by Smart's lack of field experience, and so their relationship starts off brittle and cold, and not at all credible when the couple do warm up by film's end.

As for the humor of the movie, it mostly consists of sadistic sight gags like memos being stapled to people's foreheads or Max hurting himself with a tricked-out professional-strength Swiss Army Knife. What little wit shines through comes from quotes of the famous catch phrases of the series ("Missed it by that much", "Would you believe", and the like.)

In place of the original's sharp characterizations and humor, we get pretty photography of Moscow and one big-budget (but not very funny) chase scene. Plus the luscious Anne Hathaway, who deserves much better fare than this. The only extra on the DVD is a handful of alternate scenes; the ones included in the theatrical release were so painful, I opted not to endure those as well.

So if you haven't ever seen "Get Smart" on TV, by all means check out the first season of that riotous spy spoof instead. If you have, then do yourself a favor and steer clear of this dog (and I don't mean Agent Fang).

#1 Cheap Growing Pains - The Complete First Season Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

This was an old favorite from when I was a kid and it still is I found after buying this great set! The theme song at first as an adult I found kind of corny, but as I watched more episodes, it started to grow on me and it brought with it found memories of my youth. The main extra was fine to me, the retrospective from the original season one cast. It was fun to see all of them a lot older. But I have to say, each on of the main cast still looks good for being 20-30 years older.

I wish we had shows like this still on tv. It's really sad to me that family sitcoms are basically dead and that hour long crime drams are king. But as the "westerns" age of tv shows showed us, nothing last forever on tv, so maybe shows like this may come back a few years from now, who knows? But, even more then that and especially if that doesn't happen, I hope we see more season of this on DVD! While it has been a few years since this release, I have heard rumors that season two may come out in 2011. Crossing my fingers!

#1 Cheap Reno 911 - The Complete First Season Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

I had caught parts of Reno 911 on Comedy Central from time to time but rarely saw a full episode. After watching the first season on DVD, I can see why Reno 911 has the following it does. Reno 911 is like an non-animated version of South Park in that it is an equal opportunity offender (white, minorities, straight, gay, rich, poor....everyone is fair game) that gets it's laughs from not being politically correct and a certain amount of truth in their jokes. Done in the classic "Cops" fashion with a roving camera following the crew on their daily routines, Reno 911 will make you smile/grin or out right laugh in every episode. Each character has their own issue(s) that allow everyone to play off each other and set up many hilarious situations. Of course, if you are offended by language or get all bent out of shape by non-PC jokes then you will want to avoid this. However, if you like South Park (or at at least not offended by it even if you don't like it), then you have to give Reno 911 a try. For the price of the first season now, it is easily worth all the laughs you'll get!

Reno 911 - The Complete First Season Overview

The antics of the sheriff's department in Reno, Nevada.

Good, not so clean, fun - Beantown Jim - Florida
Reno 911 was, for its first three seasons, the funniest thing on tv. That is saying a lot, as tv comedy is incredibly hard to write. It's no coincidence that the Simpsons and Futurama were replete with Harvard grads...dealing with PC, FCC standards and practices, the various ethnic and conservative interest groups...it is overwhelming and difficult to be funny in this mix.

Now we come to Reno 911; it is irreverent, hilarious, sexy, dirty, ribald, and just plain childish silly. Any of these elements by themselves don't amount to much, but when the ensemble show is put together, the sketch humor is great and we see a police force totally inept, totally corrupt, and totally hilarious. It is hugely insulting to cops and I guess that they love it.

Unless you hate to laugh, buy this dvd...

#1 Cheap City of Angels / Michael (Double Feature) Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

I have ordered this product from Amazon.com which I consider a great buy. It has two movies, City of Angels & Michael on one dvd. The price is great and if you are a fan of John Travolta & Nicolas Cage these are two movies that are a little different for both actors.

The subject matter is Angels for both movies, and both actors made these movies before they started making action/drama movies with lots of violence. I guess it was a kinder & more gentle time.

City of Angels / Michael (Double Feature) Overview

Pragmatic heart surgeon Maggie doesn't believe in angels...until she meets one. That angel is Seth, who can remain a spiritual being and live forever. Or he can forsake his immortality on the chance that Maggie might love him. Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan star in the rapturous and tender romance City of Angels [Side A]. Next, romantic comedy gets its wings in Michael [Side B]. John Travolta plays a disheveled, Heaven-sent angel who's just a little bit devilish as he tries to make the most of his terrestrial visit. Andie MacDowell co-stars as a member of a tabloid team that's eager to reel in a page-one story. Divine comedy!

City of Angels/Michael - KD -
I was very disappointed with this product. It is supposed to be a double feature City of Angels and Michael, my two very favorite movies. However, when I played the DVD only City of Angels was on the DVD. Michael was not.

I'm very upset over this and will never buy from this seller again!

Thanks for one movie when I should have received two!

#1 Cheap Charlie Chan Collection, Vol. 5 (Charlie Chan At The Wax Museum/Murder Over New York/Dead Men Tell/Charlie Chan In Rio/Charlie Chan In Panama/Murder Cruise/Castle in the Desert) Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

When I was a child and we got our first tv I remember Charlie Chan movies as an early program choice by our family. Later, Charlie Chan movies used to show in the early hours of the New Year. It's been a few years since they have shown them and I was getting nostalgic. This volume is with Number 2 son and is a nice selection which we have enjoyed several times over. After watching, I'm sure it was the Sidney Toler episodes as Charlie that I was mostly recalling.

I wish I knew what makes the old movies engaging even when you know the plot and how the story ends. I'm grateful they were able to find film on put these on dvd. Sometimes the sound has that hollow studio set sound for supposedly outdoor scenes, but it just seems to add to the charm.

If you are looking for action, chases and high-tech effects, don't watch these.

Charlie Chan Collection, Vol. 5 (Charlie Chan At The Wax Museum/Murder Over New York/Dead Men Tell/Charlie Chan In Rio/Charlie Chan In Panama/Murder Cruise/Castle in the Desert) Overview

Disc 1: Charlie Chan at the Wax Museum Disc 2: Murder Over New York Disc 3: Dead Men Tell Disc 4: Charlie Chan in Rio Disc 5: Charlie Chan in Panama Disc 6: Charlie Chan's Murder Cruise Disc 7: Castle in the Desert Disc 8: Charlie Chan: The Fox Years

The last batch of the Fox Chan's - Lawrence Nepodahl - DeKalb, IL United States
This completes the Sidney Toler (as Charlie Chan) films that he did for 20th Century Fox. The quality is superb. Some of the best scripted Chan stories are in this box set. These being- DEAD MEN TELL and the very last- CASTLE IN THE DESERT. There are the Trailers for all the films offered in this set; but my only complaint would be the minimum of Extras offered. That being on the last disc. and the featurette concerns Charlie Chan's Fox years. A must for completists though.

#1 Cheap Two Weeks Notice (Full-Screen Edition) (Snap Case) Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

In 28 Days Sandra Bullock has 4 weeks to get through rehab and start to be funny. Here, she only has Two Weeks Notice, but the film is twice as funny in half the time. Hugh Grant is so charming that he was able to restart his career after he was caught with his pants down with Divine Brown. He made the Mea Culpa circuit on the talk shows, admitted his mistake with a boyish grin, and all was forgiven (though he probably still had a lot of 'splaining to do to his girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley). Anyway, oftentimes when I see a Hugh Grant or a Sandra Bullock film, I am very skeptical at first. Sometimes they are a bit much. But seeing them together, I bet that they would be fantastic. Each would balance out the other, or so I hoped.

Thankfully, I wasn't wrong. As far as the Romantic Comedy genre goes, it doesn't get any better than this. Their characters are opposites that attract, like Sam and Diane on Cheers. Hugh is a business man / Real Estate developer--kind of a Donald Trump with better hair and a British accent (BTW, Trump does a cameo and a Trump home is used for one of the locations). Grant is George Wade, a classic conservative, while Sandra plays Lucy Kelson, a liberal lawyer given to defending the poor downtrodden, and as a result, she is pretty poor and downtrodden her own self.

-----------------------------
Meryl Brooks: Come on, I've known you since Brownies, and the only time I ever saw you cry was when Bush won.
Lucy Kelson: Which one?
Meryl Brooks: Well, both of them.
========================================

George Wade hires lady lawyers strictly for their looks. His brother tells him that has got to stop:

-------------------------
Howard Wade: You need someone who can write a brief instead of removing yours.
================================

Seeing that Lucy is a bright lawyer, he offers her a lavish salary which she accepts. He is banking on the fact that they are really not each other's cup of tea, and so will not be distracted from the business at hand. All goes extremely well, but George begins to rely on Lucy more and more.

------------------
Lucy Kelson: What did I tell you that defines an emergency?
George Wade: A large meteoroid, severe blood loss and uh... what was the other thing?
Lucy Kelson: Death! And you're not dead!
=============================

It is at this juncture in time that Lucy gives George the Two Week Notice referred to in the title. She begins interviewing replacements, and none seem suitable, or even adequate, until in walks a bright young redhead fresh out of Harvard, June Carver (Alicia Witt). June moves in for the kill, and soon Lucy is feeling quite a bit jealous, realizing too late that she has fallen in love with the dashing and debonair George. June usurps her role and becomes his date for a charity function that he had originally invited Lucy to. June wears a top hat that is so Betsy's Wedding it isn't funny, or maybe it's a little funny, but it is mainly just very hot, a black top hat instead of a white one. For me, this was an unexpected treat. Alicia Witt is not only beautiful, she is smart, too. Intelligence, not power, is the ultimate aphrodisiac, my apologies to Henry Kissinger.

---------------
June Carter: Do you know what I like even more than chess?
George Wade: Pokémon?
======================

Strip Chess? Wow. With Alicia Witt? What could be more tantalizing than that? Don't worry; it is all very tastefully done. But wait a minute; we are supposed to be in Kelson's corner. We are rooting for Lucy, not June. So Alicia Witt plays June as just a bit of a... well, you know.

Alicia Witt got her start in David Lynch's Dune, but I remember her as Cybill's daughter Zoey Woodbine on Cybill's sit com, Cybill. She was a smart and sassy redhead who played piano. In real life she was a classically trained pianist who used to play the piano at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. She was also kind of a child prodigy. At the tender age of four she appeared on "That's Incredible!" (1980) to show off her amazing reading skills, and she also performed the balcony scene of Romeo and Juliet with the host. Her mother, Diane Witt, was in the Guinness Book of World Records from 1988 to 1996 for having the world's longest hair. One wonders if it was also red, and what a splendid sight that would make. Alicia herself modeled what is purported to be the most expensive hat ever made, the ,700,000 Chapeau d'Amour designed by Louis Mariette, at Christie's in London. Last time I saw her was as Miss Pasternak on 2 and a Half Men, where she was devastatingly cute, though her character was a little bit crazy.

Director Marc Lawrence is an expert at crafting Rom Com vehicles for either Hugh Grant or Sandra Bullock. He wrote Forces of Nature and Miss Congeniality, and he wrote and directed Two Weeks Notice, Music and Lyrics, and Did You Hear About the Morgans? Since he is so adept at creating and filming material for both Grant and Bullock, you'd expect a film with the two of them together to be a slam dunk. And it is.

Marc Lawrence has a good ear for music, and he even plays harmonica on the opening track, a re-mix of "Baby, You've Got What it Takes" performed by Dinah Washington & Brook Benton. Other featured musical performers include Counting Crows featuring Vanessa Carlton, Perry Como, Mel Tormé, Xavier Cugat, Fountains of Wayne, Aretha Franklin, Stanley Turrentine, James Brown, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Michael Bublé, Norah Jones, Dusty Springfield, Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway, and Al Green. Norah Jones, doing the Hoagy Carmichael, Ned Washington chestnut "The Nearness of You" even performs her number in person. Other great musical moments were when Hugh Grant's character George Wade struts to "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag," and when they repurposed Bachman-Turner Overdrive's "Takin' Care of Business" to mean the number 2 meaning of business.

Bottom Line is that Two Weeks Notice is a five-out-of-five star Romantic Comedy, and the material is perfect for both Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock to work their particular brand of magic on. Added bonus is Alicia Witt, who really stirs things up. She can be my check mate, any day. It is a silly, frothy mixture, but it goes down so smooth and satisfying.

-------------------------------------
George Wade: Divorce always gives me an appetite. Kabob?
Lucy Kelson: No thanks. I've never really warmed to the idea of a *flesh* popsicle.

#1 Cheap Mary and Max [Blu-ray] Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

Technology is constantly fluctuating. Even other day you can get a new phone thatfll do at least one more thing than the last one: voice dialing, HD video recording, bar-code reading, GPS, video chat, until eventually our phones will inhabit our bodies and force us into slavery. Wait, has Apple already done that?

Another bit of technology that is constantly in flux is film. One day we have jerky, black-and-white, soundless frames available in 5x5 manually rotating film boxes, the next we have computer generated imagery of a cartoon wildebeest sharing a screen with the since deceased Rodney Dangerfield running us down in 3-D. Itfs been quite a century.

In the midst of that timeline of film, there once was an stop-motion animated process called claymation. The use of claymation began before cell-structuring, and could be seen used in creations such as Bob the Builder, every worthwhile Christmas special ever made, TOOL videos, and uber-ridiculous video games. In keeping with the idea that art should be a pain-staking, bloody process that would take years to accomplish, claymation film made itself a true 3-D art form to be pitted against a more commercial, computer-generated 3-D world. Sadly, stop-motion in general lost steam as Tim Burton decided to put Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in as many live-action movies as possible. however, there was a minor resurgence in the art-form when Seth Green launched his infamous Robot Chicken. It is unknown how much an effect Robot Chicken had on writer/director Henry Selick, but some time later Coraline hit the public with tremendous success. Stop-motion animation was shot in 3-D, blending the old with the new with fantastic success.

However, I havenft given a crap about the return of claymation for at least a decade, until I saw Mary & Max.

The story that evolves in Mary & Max is almost like an adult fairytale, except that it is based in reality, and is supposedly even based on a true story. Itfs not exactly the content that makes it like a fairytale, but more how it is presented. For most of the film, the story is explained to us by a disembodied narrator(voiced by Barry Humphries) as if our grandfather were telling us about Mary & Max, after he had told us that babies came from beer glasses. This narration gives the story a quirky cuteness to it, since many times the action on the screen is almost the opposite of what the narrator is portraying, like how a child, or a middle-aged man with Aspergerfs Syndrome, would imagine it.

The plot of Mary & Max is as follows: a lonely, chubby 8 year old Australian with a Gorbachev birthmark named Mary Daisy Dinkle randomly chooses an address from New York to start writing to in the hopes that they would answer a question about where babies come from in America. The letter is received by Max Jerry Horowitz(played by Philip Seymour Hoffman), an obese, 44 year old Jewish atheist living in New York with Aspergerfs Syndrome. Maryfs simple letter is answered with a novel of a letter where Max divulges information I wouldnft put in a diary that I locked away in a safety deposit box on the moon. He also tells her that in America, babies come from eggs laid by rabbis, Catholic nuns, and dirty prostitutes. This begins an inter-continental friendship that lasts for about 18 years, that is followed throughout the movie.

The comedy comes from the sincerity of Mary and Max as they try to explain their lives to each other in their socially inept voices: Mary being inexperienced with life, and Max being utterly oblivious at times. A little girlfs obsession with Earl Grey, a manfs obsession with chocolate hotdogs, a closeted Greek boy with an obsession with sheep herders(played by Eric Bana), even suicide, these ideas are all incorporated into almost a sing-song quality. This does not diminish the emotions involved to the viewer when watching the film, but it does dull the sharpness a bit. The story isnft without grieving moments, which makes it more like the adult fairytale description that I just canft shake from. Oh, and I got a little misty-eyed at the end. Like when I watched What Dreams May Come and Big Fish. Wimp, you say? I dare you to get through any of these 3 movies without some tears, you cold-hearted [...].

The production of the film is fantastic. During the opening credits, the camera work makes it a point to show the detail and texture that had gone into creating the settings and characters, from lamp posts to pets. They look almost animated, which is a testament to not only the clay artisans, but the cinematography as well. The detail is what makes this movie stand out most of all, and reclaim the idea of claymation as an art-form, and not some ridiculously low-budget production style.

In regards to flaws, I couldnft find any. The only thing I could call a flaw is that the packaging as an animated movie, and the gNot Ratedh rating, could result in an oblivious parent picking out the movie for their child. There are few moments that could be construed as explicit, but as a whole, the movie is a little too deep and the subject matter a bit more adult orientated. This is from a guy who turned his younger siblings on to horror movies.

I give this film 5 out of 5 chocolate hotdogs. Get the Blu-Ray version if you have the chance, and the extra 5 bucks.

Mary and Max [Blu-ray] Overview

From Academy Award® winning writer/director Adam Elliot and producer Melanie Coombs (HARVEY KRUMPET) comes the hilarious and moving new claymated feature film about the pen-pal relationship between two very different people: Mary Daisy Dinkle (voiced by Oscar® nominee Toni Collette) is a lonely 8-year-old in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. Over the course of 20 years and 2 continents, their unusual journey of friendship will explore autism, taxidermy, alcoholism, where babies come from, kleptomania, sexual differences, trust, copulating dogs, religious differences, agoraphobia and more of life s big and little surprises.

Two unlikely pen pals = bff - DelusionalAngel - USA
Mary, an eight year Australian girl picks a random American to be her pen pal. Max, the man who gets her letter is a grown man with no real friends beyond a few neighbors. He sees his shrink regularly. Attends Overeaters Anonymous meetings. And he panics upon finding the letter from Mary. Then, he calms himself and answers, starting a friendship which spans decades - though not without its bumps.

A beautiful story told in a visually stunning claymation style that suits it perfectly. A must see.

#1 Cheap Rules of Engagement - The Complete First Season Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

Rules of Engagement is a very good sitcom. It's hilarious and cast perfectly.
The fist season only had 7 episodes because it was a mid-season replacement for "Old Christine"
This is a review of the DVD, not the show.

The Complete First Season:
The set is not really a boxed set, but more of just a normal DVD. It's packaged in a normal DVD case. The front cover has a cast picture resembling that of the opening sequence. The back has a series summary and features included. There is only one disc with the same picture as the front cover on it. The menues have nice color to theme as the theme, "How Many Ways" by Senor Happy, plays with as a background of images of the cast. You have the choice to either watch all 7 episodes in a row, or just one at a time.
The picture is presented in Widescreen format, the audio is very clear.

It is a cheap set, but why spend a lot of money for just one disc?

The features actually aren't bad, but they aren't the best features. There's a table read, which is very entertaining.

If you are a fan of the show, then buy this DVD!!!!!! Season two came out back in '08 so we've been waiting very impatiently for the third season to be released (which has a release date from sony for September 14, 2010!).

Thanks for reading.

#1 Cheap Murder, She Wrote - The Complete Second Season Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

The character of Jessica Fletcher and the quintessential town of Cabot Cove added a sense of warmth and hominess to this groundbreaking series.

Season two was the pinnacle year for Murder She Wrote fans. In season one, Angela Lansbury was still honing her acting chops and developing the character of mystery writer, Jessica Fletcher. By season two, it seemed as though Lansbury had gotten a grip on the ins and outs of the New England busybody. She played Jessica with reverence, a redeeming quality that not many other actresses could have pulled off. Fletcher was all Lansbury--for twelve wonderful years.

The air in which Lansbury performed Fletcher was of sophistication and novelty. The mystery writer seemed more interesting and feisty by season two. Lansbury pedaled forward with a determined and untouchable force of nature.

Cabot Cove had never, in its twelve years, been as homey as it was depicted during the second season. The appeal of Cabot Cove seen in episodes such as "Sticks and Stones," "If a Body Meet a Body" and "Keep the Home Fries Burning", lured the TV viewer into the coziness of Murder She Wrote. Upon watching these episodes, you want to visit the fictional town of Cabot Cove and all of its inhabitants.

Character development in season two was wonderful. Writing was top notch, as was the actors' performances. Viewers got a sense of who Jessica Fletcher really was and the goings-on in the small town of Cabot Cove. Recurring characters of Dr. Seth Hazlet (William Windom) and Sheriff Amos Tupper (Tom Bosley) made the series worthwhile.

Not much can be said about the greatness of this landmark series. Not many shows these days can hold a light to the rarity and brilliance of Murder She Wrote.

Murder, She Wrote- the complete second season - Cris Marlow - ROSEBURG, OR, US
I found, out of all I have bought of this series, this one to be of bad quality with it freezing and sticking and moving slowly. I had to send it back only to get a replacement that did similar altho not as bad, and I played it on two different DVD players & it started in the middle of the Disk. I felt it was opened before, as is had no stickers on the inside disk's. I love the series and will keep it but was disappointed after all the others I have purchased. Other wise I have been happy about all the other products.

#1 Cheap Ernest Goes to Camp Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

Thumbs up! A classic comedy about Ernest and his comedic adventures at summer camp. This film is a great film for the entire family to watch because there is comedy that an adult will find funny yet children will still understand the jokes and slapstick that ensues within the film. A great comedy family film for everyone to participate in!

Ernest Goes to Camp Overview

Ernest P. Worrell, America's lanky, lovable know-it-all (played to perfection by comedian "Hey, Vern! KnoWhutImean?" Jim Varney), stars as the hero of this frenetic, side-splitting comedy. The handyman at Kamp Kikakee, Ernest achieves his greatest ambition and becomes a camp counselor to a gang of juvenile delinquents from the Midstate Boys Detention Center! Not only must Mr. Advice-for-every-possible-occasion wrangle the wayward youths, but he has to save the camp from the ruthless clutches of a giant mining company too. Comic pandemonium ensues in the laugh riot of the summer season ... or any ol' time!

Not as fun as the other Ernest films, but it's still pretty fun - Eric S. Kim - Southern California
Seeing as how Ernest P. Worrell is a character that I admired when I was a little kid, I usually enjoy watching his films. Ernest Scared Stupid, Ernest Goes to Jail, Ernest Rides Again, and Ernest Saves Christmas are a few that I consider guilty pleasures as of now. Ernest Goes to Camp, on the other hand, isn't really much of a pleasure. I know that this is the first ever Ernest film that was released, but I don't find it as fun as the other Ernest films. Plus, I could care less about the kids in this film: most of them have no character, and their 80's clothing is really uncomfortable to watch. The Native American characters are typical environmentalists (a stereotype), but at least they are very positive characters. The villains are cardboard cutouts. And, of course, the battle near the end is completely ridiculous. Come on, how can a few dozen adults be easily attacked by a group of kids? Still, Ernest Goes to Camp isn't that bad of a movie. Ernest is typically hilarious, and his goofy sidekicks are likable (even if they are a bit annoying at times). So, it's a mixed bag, but I can still recommend this to every single Ernest fan on the planet.
