#1 Cheap Who is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe? Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

A new gem from the Warner Brothers Archive Collection, this is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. An "old school" whodunit filmed in some of Europe's best restaurants. Worth viewing just to see Robert Morley play Maximilian Vandevere, the disdainful and pretentious editor of Epicurious Magazine. The movie portrays the trouble that begins when Max's physician insists that he start a life-saving diet to lose one half of his body weight...just as Max has hired two of his favorite chefs to prepare a dinner for the queen of England. Something mysterious starts happening related to one of his magazine articles entitled, "The World's Most Fabulous Meal"; murder ensues, and chefs are killed in the manner in which they prepare their signature dishes. Max takes you on a tour of Europe while blasting his quippy criticisms at everything and everyone in sight. This is a MUST SEE - filmed in 1978 (previously only available on VHS).

Who is Killing the Great Chefs of Europe? Overview

George Segal, Jacqueline Bisset and Robert Morley top the bill of fare in this food- and fun-filled mystery garnished with wit. Segal plays a glib fast-food tycoon and Bisset is his ex-wife, a pastry chef who may become the last course in an enigmatic killer's banquet of death. Morley has a tasty field day as an acerbic gourmet magazine publisher whose cascading series of chins and stomachs bear witness to his love of fine dining. But the mogul's doctors have ordered him to give up his favorite dishes - and one by one the chefs who create those dishes are slain in the manner of their specialties. Phillipe Noiret, Jean-Pierre Cassel and Jean Rochefort give delicious support, as does a mouth-watering array of wild mushrooms, plump pigeons, shiny artichokes, rich chocolate and more gastronimical delights. Dig in!

great film terrible quality! - Stephen Scott - melbourne australia
Each time i purchase a blu-ray/dvd i always read the customer reviews and what i look for are comments regarding the quality of the transfer.Usually someone(thank you whoever you are) comments and these reviews are critical in obtaining a good quality product. In regard to this excellent comedy the transfer approximates a very poor v.h.s.tape.I would advise against purchasing this film until the production company re-masters the original.
