#1 Cheap South Park - The Complete Tenth Season Reviews

Special Price Today Go To Store!! (Limited Time Offer)

South Park is among the best shows to ever be on television and this season is among the best in South Park history. The episode that won the emmy for Matt and Trey this year, "Make Love, Not Warcraft," is, simply put, one of the greatest things ever. Words can barely describe this episode's perfection. As if that weren't enough, there are many other absolutely exceptional milestone-filled episodes in this landmark season. The two-parter "Cartoon Wars" marks the first time in the show's history that Parker and Stone attempted to push the envelope so far that they ended up being censored by the network (history would repeat itself again in season 14, over the same issue). This two-parter was, in addition to being a great and courageous defense of free speech, also very funny. They managed to poke fun at themselves and Family Guy simultaneously, terrorists and Americans simultaneously, and play both sides of the censorship issue in a richly nuanced and complicated farce that may force viewers to think for a while before deciding what the message of the show actually is. The other huge episode in this season is the opener, "The Return of Chef," which in addition to being another hilarious send-up of Scientology, also marks the last appearance of beloved character Chef in the series. His departure is another balancing act pulled off flawlessly- both very funny and touching at the same time. Since viewers did not know what was going to happen with the character at this pivotal moment in the show's history I actually got choked up watching this the first time. Other highlights of the season include the destruction of San Francisco in "Smug Alert!," Al Gore's first appearance on the show in "ManBearPig," Cartman being subdued by the Dog Whisper in "Tsst," and, in what became a new watershed moment in sheer absurdity, a lengthy dialogue involving Oprah Winfrey's talking @$$hole and vagina (without animating a single frame) in "A Million Little Fibers."
