I just received this movie and the accurate ratio is Anamorphic Widescreen 2.00:l, to my disappointment. I do not own a very short, very wide, very expensive televisions (or whatever they're called these days) so a ratio like this means "get out the binoculars"! Unfortunately, I didn't check the back cover before opening it so it can't be returned. I wish websites that sell DVDs would post accurate ratios, Amazon included. For many people, that's a very important detail. With a standard television, this ratio means a large portion of the top and bottom of your screen will be black. For those who say films should be shown in their original format, I agree IF you're viewing it on a large theatre screen. But when I watch a movie on my home television, I'd rather be able to see the actor's faces than the tree on the far left and the car on the far right. If directors don't agree with that, maybe they should only show their films in theatres and not on television or retail DVDs.
As for the movie...it's adorable, but probably enjoyed more by women than men. Yes, it's very outdated compared to movies today, or even relationships today, but it's one that the entire family can watch without fear of violence, nudity or foul language popping up unexpectedly. And for all the young women of the world, Chantal's methods of "training" her man are 100% accurate. It really works! And for any man who claims it doesn't, you're lying.
