I don't remember actually seeing this in the theater when it came out but I had seen bits and pieces on TV over the years and thought I would enjoy seeing it uncut. I must admit that I really found it charming and fun, touching in many ways but played with a lot of broad humor. Not too thrilled seeing Jack Lemmon's bare butt, but the scene played well and was important to the film. I will probably dig this out now and then to watch again. The outdoor scenes are beautiful and the cast is excellent.

Avanti is a very enjoyable film, with a good plot. It is well acted, well paced and has beautiful scenery. I would heartily recommend this DVD.
