This movie is about a small-town sort of dorky girl named Bliss(well played by Ellen Page)who has a dream and is trying to make something of herself in this world. She does when she finds the hobby of roller debry and joins a team with a bunch of other girls played by Drew Barrymore(the director of the film)and Kristen Wing who looks like Kate Hudson and other chicks. Anyway Bliss is very talented at this sport and pursues the sport and does really well. She has a job at a diner with her best friend(played by Alia Shawkat of "Rebound" and "State of Grace")and goes to beauty pagegents with her mother who hopes she follows in her dream. however, Bliss follows her heart and fullfills her dream. She becomes a winner in Derby Skating, which is sort of dorky but fun to watch and very cool. Juliette Lewis plays a mean skater who bullies Bliss and the rest of them. They're losers so is a mean girl who picks on Bliss at her school. There's a cute boy whom she falls in love with and her parents of course support her at the end. The movie's okay, but has unnecssary parts like religious lines and some sexual and crude humor, and it's more for teenagers then kids but the movie is cool and well-acted and Drew makes an amazing directoral debut. She is also good in the movie. I watched "Whip It" and thought it was fun, cool and very inspiring and I thought the movie was a good and kind of cool. I love Ellen Page, she was perfect for the role of Bliss and Alia shone as her best friend and Juliette Lewis was good too.

This movie was such a cute movie. It makes you remember being a teenager again. This movie shows how a young girl discovers herself and develops confidence. This movie also shows how adults, and teens come together to an understanding. That is what I liked behind the hidden meaning of this movie.
