So...prefacing this by stating that I am huge fan from way back. My parents had HBO as soon as you could get it, so even as a child I knew that Mork from Ork had a different side to him. Have the Live at the Met CD (remaster and expand this, please) loved it, loved it for years, hilarious and poignant. Have the Live on Broadway 2002 album (love the second disc with local material...they did this on the DVD portion of this album as well, no material from Orlando when I saw him, though...sad face) But the big bonus that got me to buy it was the footage from old specials. I had seen clips from the first special (was it at The Roxy? and while I'm spieling was Tony Danza there? what's up with that?) and so, I was glad to see that...really funny, really interesting, creative stuff. There was a clip from the second special from 1982, which I had no idea existed (the clip from this was him borrowing a camera from someone in the audience and him sticking it down his pants, hilarious) another clip from Live at the Met (which I think my parents taped off HBO and I think I wore it out by middle school) but always glad to see that, and then like 20 minutes from the last special which is available on DVD pretty much anywhere you can buy DVDs...my point is that, if you like Robin, you probably already have the last album/DVD so why give that special the lion's share of the footage...was it hilarious? Yes, that's why I bought it in the first place. If I could buy the old specials, I would. I sooooooooo would. Seriously, put them out and see how quickly I buy them. Albums, too. I love comedy albums. Columbia, or whoever owns the rights to this stuff, put them out, if you make it, we will buy. You don't have to put too much effort into it (I don't think those Carlin specials they put out on DVD awhile back had too many bells whistles or even animated menus, but people still bought them.

So...yeah, the album, good stuff. Not as good as 2002, but if that was a 9 this was a 7.75 in my book, and, man, he almost DIED on this tour, give him a break. If you liked the last one, pick this up, even if you never listen to the album, the DVD is worth it, and there's all this classic footage on there. Definitely worth the, what are they charging here? (scrolls up, crap it's on another page) [...]...sure, awesome, a bargain at the full .98.

Weapons of Self Destruction Overview

Robin Williams - comedian, writer and Academy Award-winning actor - returned to HBO for his first solo TV concert since 2002. The show was filmed at Washington D.C.'s DAR Constitution Hall on his sold-out "Weapons Of Self Destruction" national tour. Robin covers such topics as global warning, health care in America (suggesting a "cash for clunkers" for elderly relatives), and more personal topics such as his recent open heart surgery. Bonus features include clips from Robin's previous concerts - some dating back to 1978 - as well as tour highlights filmed all along the 2009 tour.
