In a remarkable turn-of-events, the result of the presidential election comes down to his vote. Look you can read all the other reviews to see what this is about, so let me just tell you about some special and not so special parts of the movie. First you have to ignore the fact that an election can not come down to one vote, especially the presidental election with the house sitting to take care of all ties. Once pass that you find that the movie is too long by at least 15 minutes. Costner is not a very likeable person and is somewhat of an a__hole. His final speech at the debate is moving but doesn't make up for his grosse behavior. The scene about the ex-wife feels tossing in and is not developed. The black boy who the girl likes is memntioned but never developed and the scene when we see his father again feels like there were some scenes left out. The girl is cute and too smart for her age. Lopez is wasted in a part that could have been played by anyone. Hopper comes across as a wimp and the scene where he gets slapped is uncomfortable. Lane and Tucci are the best part of the film. They are polished and believeable. Grammer towards the end of the film surprised me. The scenes with Coster in the lawn chair and the late night talk with Tucci are moving and lead me to belilenve that Grammer could be a good serious actor.
All in all this is an okay film and is forgetable. The ending is very good. The film ends like it should.
